Promoters behind some of the country's biggest music events are taking legal action against performance rights organisation Societe d'Auteurs Belge Auteurs Maatschappij (SABAM) over its tariff rise for festivals and concerts.
Introduced on 1 January, the new rate sees festivals generating over €3.2 million ($3.6m) paying 3.5 per cent, up from 2.5 per cent, while shows generating more than €400,000 ($448,971) have seen an increase from 4.5 per cent to 5.75 per cent.
